Silicon Puffer Jacket – Washing Instructions

Designed to stay bold. Treated to stay clean. Here’s how to care for your jacket like a pro:
Step 1: Prep the Jacket
- Empty the pockets – coins, keys, snacks… everything out!
- Zip it up – close all zippers and fasten Velcro/snaps.
- Turn it inside out – protects the outer shell and the shine of the silicon finish.
Step 2: Machine Wash (Gentle is Key)
- Use a front-load washing machine (top loaders can be too harsh).
- Set to cold water (30°C or below).
- Choose the gentle/delicate cycle.
- Use a mild detergent – no bleach, no fabric softeners (they break down the silicon coating).
Step 3: Washing Tricks
- Throw in 2–3 clean tennis balls or dryer balls (even during washing) to maintain the puff.
- Wash solo – no other garments, especially not denim or towels.
Step 4: Rinse & Spin
- Let the cycle finish with an extra rinse (if available) to remove all soap residue.
- Use a low spin speed to avoid stress on the filling.
Step 5: Drying – The Make or Break
- NEVER wring or twist.
- Tumble dry low with dryer balls/tennis balls again – they break up clumps and fluff the filling.
- Dry until completely dry – damp fill = mildew.
- No dryer? Lay flat on a clean towel, reshaping it as it dries. Turn it over every few hours.
Step 6: Aftercare
- Once dry, lightly shake and pat the jacket to restore full loft.
- Do not iron or dry clean – silicon coatings don’t like high heat or chemicals.
- Store hanging, not folded, to preserve its silhouette.
Pro Designer Tip:
Wash only when necessary – spot clean small stains to extend the life of the jacket. Overwashing = flat puff & faded fabric.
